On Saturday’s game, 7, for the Northwest Cup, the tricolor jerseys will stamp the campaign #ZeroViolence against Women logo, besides the partner’s logo -- a UN agency.
Astrid Bant, the representative of UNFPA in Brazil, is from the Netherlands, worked in the defense of human rights in countries such as Mozambique and Vietnam, and will be present in Arena Fonte Nova to sign the partnership agreement with the president of Club Bahia, Guilherme Bellintani, occasion when they will attend a press conference.

The most popular soccer team of the Northwest region was chosen because of the initiatives already developed outside the field, for three years now. “The Bahia Sport Club develops actions of promotion of human rights and understands that sport, through soccer, can be a space to accelerate discussion of great social relevance issues in the country”, highlights the agreement term that will be signed on before the match, scheduled for 4 p.m.

The United Nations Population Fund has in its mandate the goal of reaching three zeros until 2030: zero violence and harmful practices against women and girls, zero preventable maternal deaths and zero unmet need for contraception and reproductive planning. The partnership with Club Bahia celebrated the International Day of Women and will be followed by a series of joint actions.

Besides the customized uniform for the team, girls -- instead of boys -- will escort the athletes in the field entrance, and awareness materials such as videos will be disclosed on social media and at the stadium’s big screens. The plan of activities also includes workshops about gender-based violence organized by UNFPA, to boys from lower divisions and the club partners.

The Bahia Sport Club will also commit to support and promote the campaign “Red Card”, co-organized by UN agencies and Fifa, during the year of 2020. Themes like racism, homophobia and other forms of prejudice should be approached through the partnership along the season.
